Professor Jamie Read is the Dean of the Lincoln Medical School, Professor of Medical Education and Geriatrician at Lincoln County Hospital with a particular focus on frailty and multi-morbidity. Jamie took up role in April 2024 to steer the medical school towards independence and grow research within the University. Prior to moving to Lincolnshire he was the Dean of Medical Education at Cardiff University School of Medicine and undertook his own medical degree in Plymouth, where he was also a postgraduate trainee prior to becoming Deputy Head of the Peninsula Medical School. Jamie is passionate about preparing future graduates for changing careers in the NHS and ensuring that students are supported to develop positive professional identities as future doctors. In addition to his work locally, Jamie holds national roles with the Academy of Medical Educators and the General Medical Council. Outside of work he is a keen runner (although not an especially good one!)
